Good things happen when dog rescue volunteers team up as shown in this Pilots N Paws Lifeline Weimaraner Rescue video from August 19, 2012. Video duration (01:01 min./sec.)
Video Narration Transcript
Volunteer pilot Jasone and wife Ava arrived by private plane August 19 at Kissimmee Jet Center in Florida with two Weimaraner dogs rescued from a Georgia shelter.
Watch as female Weims Bella and Betty Sue unload and greet Lifeline staff and shake off the effects of their exciting plane ride.
Listen as pilot Jasone gives a brief overview of the Pilots N Paws volunteer non-profit organization.
“Pilots N Paws is an organization that helps rescue dogs. We transport dogs from city to city on airplanes, and all the pilots donate their time and the fuel to get the dogs to places where they need to be.”
Bella and Betty Sue wait in the truck, and then leave en route to the Lifeline Dog Rescue facility in Okeechobee, Florida.
Please visit both our websites to learn more.
Credits Due to the Great Rescue VolunteersWe are indebted to a large group of volunteers who made this transport possible including Jamie at Lee County Animal Control, Liz our transport volunteer who arranged the flight and coordinated the itinerary with military precision, local Georgia volunteers and fosters who picked up and later brought the dogs to the airport, and Chris Ridgeon for meeting the flight in Florida and driving both to Lifeline Dog Rescue in Okeechobee, Florida.
The footage, edit, graphics and Lifeline background theme music original composition and narration are by Lifeline webmaster, Jim Degerstrom, and copyright Central Florida Weimaraner and Dog Rescue, Inc. dba Lifeline Dog Rescue.
We are so grateful for the privilege to partner with Pilots N Paws on dog rescue mission flights, and truly appreciate the support of all the other volunteers who team up with us for such amazing rescues. Special thanks go out to all.
Readers may learn more at the website of the Pilots N Paws 501c3 Non-profit Charity organization and their group of over 2500 volunteer pilots. Please donate while there.
Female Weimaraners Bella and Betty Sue are in evaluation at Lifeline. We knew Betty Sue was heartworm positive, so her treatment and recovery could take months. Bella should be listed soon, and both may be ready or adopted by the time you view this video.
This was not our first, and very likely not our last, team effort to rescue at risk dogs with the help of all those volunteers and the wonderful pilots we have met from Pilots N Paws.
