The birthday party 3 June 2012 was at the Lifeline Dog Rescue facility in Okeechobee, Florida, and guests included all dogs sheltered at Lifeline, 10 rescue doggy guests, and 9 humans including adoptive parents with rescue dogs, Lifeline partners and their rescue dogs, and our webmaster with his rescue dog.
The first photograph here is Harley the birthday boy sporting a huge smile for all the attention he received on his special day.
Harley the male Weimaraner was an owner surrender and is in foster following foot surgery a few months ago that is 90% healed.

Harley has good reason to celebrate. His foot surgery to remove a large growth on his rear right foot was exploratory because the surgeon warned he risked losing at least one toe in the procedure. Fortunately no toes were lost; the growth had not attached to the tendons so it was less severe than the worst case scenario.
The human guests at Harley’s party were served a great picnic style meal of human food plus salads, chips, pickles, soft drinks, and dessert. One might expect a mob scene of dogs without manners competing for the human food and the cake.
All dogs and doggy guests were absolutely polite and well behaved over food, the cake, and while playing during the entire day.
When you follow the links to the Facebook album of Harley’s birthday party, note how big he smiles in almost every photo. Pictures include his huge birthday cake and lots and lots of dogs lined up for their share.
Happy Birthday, Harley! We wish you many more, and many more years of happy memories!
