Two stray rescue dogs completed rehab at Lifeline Dog Rescue for weight loss, and now Pointers Buddy and Charlie are ready to adopt. Both are male Pointers around 1 year old, and were tranferred from a Georgia public shelter for rehabilitation and adoption through our dog rescue facility in Okeechobee, Florida.
The photo here shows pilot Wes of Pilots N Paws arriving at night in Central Florida to deliver Buddy and Charlie.
A remarkable cast of volunteers took action and coordinated the transportation of Buddy and Charlie to Lifeline Dog Rescue through Pilots N Paws, a non-profit group of pilots who donate time and private planes to transport rescue dogs.
Buddy and Charlie were picked up as strays in Georgia by animal control on different days, so it is unlikely they are related even though they are both white Pointer dogs with brown spots. Each was underweight, yet otherwise healthy.
Both have gained weight after one month of 4 daily feedings in rehab on a special fat enriched dog food diet. No doubt, Buddy and Charlie are high energy Pointer puppies and certainly ready for adoption.
As mentioned in their profiles on their individual adoption listings, and depending on additional weight gain by the time they are adopted, both may need to continue their special diet to gain a few more pounds.

A special thanks goes out to the Georgia dog shelter staff and the wonderful volunteers and coordinators who worked together to help Buddy and Charlie start a new life in Florida.
