Blue was an abandoned rescue who had been dumped in the woods by a North Carolina breeder that had no further use for her.
Animal Control picked her up and took her to a local kill shelter. We had her transported to Florida.
Blue was one of the saddest cases we have seen.
Blue is still reserved around strangersbut she has come a long way. She had never been to a Vet and was heartworm positive.
Blue was placed in our rehab program.

Blue Adoption and New Life
Blue was never listed for adoption, she was in the last stages of rehab when her new mom Tracey saw her. Her new mom is also in rescue and personally owned a Weimaraner who’s health was failing. Tracey wanted to adopt Blue so she could have a home similar to what she had with Lifeline/ Blue had come to adore being able to run free after being caged up with the breeder for many years. Tracey had the right environment for Blue to enjoy the outdoors and have the love she needs in the home.
Blue came to Lifeline with no vetting and so terrified she would not let anyone near her, she could not even open her eyes in the bright Florida sunshine. Gradually Blue started to trust us. Blue was vetted, spayed and treated for heartworms. She also had 3 surgeries to remove tumors on her tail and cancerous mammary glands. She was in rehab for the best part of 12 months. In December Tracey applied to adopt her.
She now lives in Orlando, Florida, a home she shares with other dogs. She has become more confident and playful and has the freedom to roam the grounds of her new home.
Thank you so much Tracey, for opening up your heart and home to adopt our beautiful girl Blue. We wish you all many years of Happy Tails and special moments with Blue.
